Welcome! I am a Political Scientist with a special focus on Political Psychology. My research examines the role of identity in political behavior. Utilizing experimental and quantitative methods I demonstrate the power of group identities in shaping political attitudes, vote choice, and various forms of political participation. In May 2016, I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Stony Brook University. In August 2016, I started working in the Department of Political Science in the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia, where I was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in early 2023.
Prior to coming to the U.S., I earned a B.A. in Political Science
from Freie Universitaet Berlin. During my undergraduate studies, I was an exchange student at the University of Pennsylvania and a research intern at the Washington Post as well as the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses in New Delhi.
When I am not doing political science stuff, you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking (or eating—often both), writing fiction, or spending time with my dog, Starbuck. I’m also an avid reader, devoted NPR listener, and hot yoga enthusiast, as well as a passionate advocate for good old-fashioned print newspapers.
